Parent and Child Fostering

Could you become a foster carer for a parent and child?

Blackburn with Darwen’s Let’s Foster are looking for people who can help and support to new parents look after their first child. You will be there to offer guidance and practical advice to new parents and help us assess that they are fully capable of looking after their own child when they move to a place that belongs to them.

This type of care usually involves looking after young people under the age of 18 and their babies. But we may also need you to look after older parents with complex needs who need a helping hand with parenting.

Parent and Child placements used to be known as Mother and Baby. The idea being a foster carer would help give the new parent the skills to look after the child on their own.

If you have a spare bedroom and feel that you can help a child or young person then we want to hear from you.
